CELEBRATING OUR 40TH YEAR OF
CITY IN MOTION DANCE THEATER
City in Motion Dance Theater, Inc. has been a part of the cultural fabric of Kansas City for 40 years! Incorporated as a not-for-profit institution in 1985, its mission is to foster the development of high-quality contemporary dance programming and expand the dance audience in the Kansas City metropolitan region. City in Motion builds bridges in the community with its professional modern dance company, school of dance, outreach program, and performance series that includes “Dance in the Park” and “Modern Night”. The critically acclaimed company is made up of professional dancers of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and talents, who demonstrate remarkable chemistry on stage. Under the artistic co-direction of Ann Shaughnessy and Bobbi Foudree, the company continues it's legacy and moves forward with limitless creativity and originality.
The company produces 3 annual performances: Dance in the Park, A Modern night at the Gem, and the professional company concert Spring Show.
