About The Event
We invite emerging choreographers to join us in City in Motion’s first ever Young Choreographer Showcase. Those who wish to be a part of YCS will attend a weekend workshop, learning and honing choreographic skills. They will then be able to submit a piece of their own choreography to be adjudicated, and up to three pieces will be chosen to premier as an opening to Modern Night 2024.
General Information:
YCS 2024 is open to emerging artists aged 13-17. Participants age is determined as of January 2024.
YCS will accept submissions of solo choreography, choreographed and performed by the same individual
In order to submit a piece for adjudication, you must join us in the YCS workshop.
Choreographers may use any music they choose, however it must be family friendly and only contain appropriate lyrics (or be instrumental).
