Tracie Jensen
Artistic Co-Director / Tap, Stretch, Bollywood & Modern Instructor
Tracie Jensen, Dallas, TX native, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in 1999. She danced with aha! dance theater for five years and then in 2007 she began her journey with City in Motion Dance Theater. This company has been an important and fulfilling part of her thirst for creative expression, dance education and passion. Tracie has also spent the past 15 years as a professional choreographer for the Heartland Men's Chorus -8 years, Kansas City Women's Chorus-4 years, Mission Valley Middle School, Grandview High School, Cristo Rey Kansas City High School-3 years, and City in Motion Dance Theater and City in Motion Youth Dance Theater. Her training includes Limon and Graham modern techniques as well as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, Pilates, West African, East Indian, Flamenco, and even Irish step dancing. Her inspiration and support system is her husband Joe, a loyal group of family and friends and the many volunteers who help run this wonderful organization. This is Tracie's 14th season with City in Motion and feels so honored to be back as a professional company member and an Artistic Co-Director. She continues to teach tap, and modern as teaching will forever be one her greatest passions. Her teaching philosophy: "Truly anyone and everyone can dance. Dance should be fun no matter your age, your level, or the style and I am dedicated to making City in Motion School of Dance the place where you can have that."
